Hubli

Hubli, which has a beautiful lake spread over 200 acres of land, was once part of the Bombay Presidency and is a unique confluence of cultures. There are Persian, Marathi and Kannada words in the local dialect and the food is also influenced by neighbouring states. One can easily access cool forested hills, world heritage historical sites, beaches and beautiful temples. All within close proximity.

Anshi National Park is located in a pristine part of the Western Ghats and is known for the richness of its flora and fauna. A treat for bird watchers, it has around 197 rare species of birds. This public garden has a musical fountain and houses a huge glass building similar to that in Lalbaug, Bangalore. A small train ride is an added attraction.

Navagraha Teertha 17kms

See the tallest 61 ft monolithic statue of Bhagavan Parshwanath mounted on a 48 ft pedestal. Along with this are statues of eight other Tirthankaras making this a must visit. Educational institutions are built in the area, and a dharamshala and a bhojnalaya serve teerth-yatris.

Renowned for its beauty, this temple is located in Tadasa cross on National Highway 4.

This water reservoir to the west of the city is often used as a day picnic spot.

Lake Unkal 4 kms
